I have a pc that boots only to dos & no o/s on the HDD I want to change the color of the fonts but when I change the fonts in the autoexec.bat file I am told that there is no edit.ini file help please

1) MS-DOS is an Operating System, therefore how can you have no O/S on the hard drive ??
2) What version of **-DOS is installed and how did you install ??
3) A full installation of MS-DOS 6.22 is 3 floppies, Ebay is a good place to buy as still licensed software.
4) You can not do what you what to do if you only have the base system files installed !!

I think that ansi had to be loaded in order to change that. That still required some other stuff.
I can't imagine why you'd need edit.ini.
I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.

The dos version is 2.0.026 this came from a ghost bootable disk
When I said no o/s I meant no windows
The ansi.sys is loaded in the config.sys

This may help in changing colors:

I think ghost uses PC-dos which may have it's own peculiarities.

The PC-DOS from GHOST (Norton/Symantec) products is only the modified base files of PC-DOS 7. The version afaik should be PC-DOS 7revision0
Therefore you need a "real" install of DOS what you have is just a boot disk!
