floppy boot says I/O error?

Solved same fault by unplugging and replugging drive (was booting to W.98se bootdisk)

Nononono! ARGH! For smartness sake, people. IO.sys is a configuration file used by DOS and windows 95/98. Your problem here is that all of the nececcary files for your bootdisk are NOT present, or you are using a bootdisk image, and just copied all of the files instead. basically, you need a new bootdisk. go here:
