I need a DOS based (free) program that will do file and directory sort. Also a program that will do a disk scan and fix (aka scandisk). Want to do these from command line and set under a task manager so that it will take place say at 3:00 AM on each Sunday. Any free ware out there ???

Running under MS Dos 7.01 and Win 3.11 WFWG.
Perhaps rip from Dr Dos ???

Sorting directories can be done if you can get an old Norton utility called ds.exe. that may be quite difficult.

Better to use LongFileNameSort (lfnsort.exe) downloadable as a zip file from here.

http://www8.pair.com/dmurdoch/programs/lfnsrt15.zip

it works on directories and files. Runs fine on my Win95 and Win98 setups. Don't know about NT and XP
