Has anyone come out with a patch yet for MS-DOS 5.0 that would allow it to read / boot from a FAt32 partition?

A patch to read FAT32 partitions can be found here. But there is no patch that will enable DOS 5.0 to boot from a FAT32 partition. If you want this ability, your best bet is to strip MS-DOS 7.10 out of Windows 95b-98SE.

NTFS is mor secure if you are running anything above windows 2000 pro server etc. use NTFS otherwise use fat32.
Summary: Versions upto MS-DOS 6.22 can omly be used on FAT16 Drives. If you want to use FAT32 you will need to extract MS-DOS 7.0 from Windows 95. This can be done by use of a bootdisk the contents of C:\Windo...
