Comment: hope i can explain this propally bear with me am new at this!my hd is dead(sob!)my son tried to help by putting the smaller slave drive in its place all is fine until i try to install win 98 but i cannot becos this hd is too small.would it b possible to change from fat16 to 32 from dos n if so how wud i go about this.or is there any other way to access more memory?be gentle with me as i am a complete novice n this is my first computor i wud b very grateful for any help i dont really understand what im doing!!!lol

Reply: (edit)Hi Pink Even with FAT 32, the hard drive may still be too small for Win 98. You need at least 300 meg minimum for a typical install of Win 98. Also, how much RAM do you have - ideally Win 98 likes 64 meg. To change the FAT you would need a Win 98 boot disk with FDISK on it, and you can make a FAT 32 partition with FDISK. I think that if your drive is under 528 megs, then FDISK needs to be used with a switch to force the choice for FAT 32. Just post back with your computer specs. Krystyna
