OK, I did a search, and almost found what I needed. This thread was on the right track.
I got a 3Com 3C905B-TX Ethernet card to run in my system under DOS 6.22, and I will be using it to connect to a Linksys RT31PT router for cable Internet. Does anyone know where to find the software I'll be needing.
I have the 3c90x2.exe file which is a DOS driver for the card taken directly from the 3Com website. Other than that, the only other DOS related files I could find were only good if I was running NetWare 3.12.
Can anyone point me in the direction of where I need to go to get the driver to connect to cable, or will the 3Com driver be enough?
EDIT: The thread was from 2002, and the site wouldn't allow me to post a reply to it; it directed me here to start a new thread.

I've now got Arachne, and am learning about packet drivers, and other things I need to know to get online. But just because I'm taking the initiative, don't think I won't welcome some seasoned advice. :-)

Now I think I've got it! I just checked a file that I downloaded earlier from 3Com, and it contains a packet driver in it. OK, I think I have what I need to get me started. I'll shut up for now. :-)

Welcome to the real world of computing!
Apart from a Packet Driver, Arachne has everthing one needs, 3COM support still include Packet Drivers in the driver package.

I'm connecting with a 3Com EtherLink XL 10/100 PCI TX (3c905B-TX) NIC using MS-DOS v7.10a alone or thru VMWare's virtual NIC in a W32 DOS window. My EtherNet cable is plugged into a LinkSys BEFSR41 v3 router where a DMZ port with a fixed address is available if i like to. Do you still need assistance to browse the web, send and receive emails/articles, transfer files using FTP/ZMoDem/Kermit or TelNet to BBSes? I'd be willing to contribute with a thought or two if you wish so let me know!...
