Comment:

Is there such a thing as a DOS driver for the Maestro-2E chip on a Compaq Armada M300 (laptop), or will DOS use the Win98 driver? I am trying to get an old DOS program (EEG-research) to think it is communicating with a Soundblaster card SB 16 (or SB 16 emulated by SB Wav 32, AWE 32, AWE 64, Creative Labs SB Live! Value , but not Live!) Thank you in advance for any pointers.

Best regards,

The only suggestion is to manually change the IRQ etc....

DOS software usually looks for Sound Card on:

IRQ 5
BASE I/O 220H
MPU-401 MIDI 330H
LOW DMA 1
HIGH DMA 5

Maybe in BIOS you can assign a Sound Balster compatibility mode?

Doc,

Everything I read tells me your card is legacy compatible with sound blaster.

I know, I know...it don't work. Try any suggestion you can find and if it doesn't work I'll send you a 386 or 486 that'll run your program. I have the same problem with Quattro Pro 4.0 on Me and 98.
