errors in dos

I have now tryed to install dos 6.22.
But under setup, some of the disks denyed to copy some files. i just ignore that. And when the installation was succesful. I did bot from harddrive. and i got this errors:
bar or missing c:\dos\himem.sys Error in config.sys line 2 Hma not available: Loading dos low
c:\dos\smartdriv.exe /x bad command or file name bad command or file name bad command or file name.

The messages you got while booting mean your installation floppies are corrupted or unreadable, as otherwise you saw during the copy process. In fact your system lacks the extended memory manager (HiMem.sys) and the hard disk cacher (SmartDrv.exe) and more (Bad command or file name). You can still use the system, but it may be unstable and show poor performance lacking of memory and speed. Get an integer set of diskettes and reinstall.

i m unable to format my hard disk in dos mode.
when i type C:\format C: then its hanged up my pc in dos mode
or
in windows it gives fault location error

Prakash Acharya - make a floppy Dos boot disk then boot from it and try again. You will realise that ALL info on C: will be destroyed.
