I Have a Edge Delta-486Dx4-100 CPU mounted on ISA\VESA mainboard. I've tried to partition disk and get an error reading fixed disk. When i try to format it, it terminates and can't write a boot. If i try to unformat it reads bad sector reading. All help would be appreciated (kids computer)

You can try to use some program provide
by the harddisk manufacturer...
i forgot the name of the program, it is a tool to fill zero to the MBR... come with
the low level format program. After do this,
you can run fdisk without error.
(I have tried it before successfully, use a program download from Maxtor's website to recover a seagate's harddisk)
If the harddisk got physical damage, no
program can recover it.
Sorry for bad english. :)

"I've tried to partition disk and get an error reading fixed disk" means you Entered FDISK and got that error without any other information screen? This usually means the drive is bad. You should boot with a floppy and see what SCANDISK or CHKDSK say about C: before you give up, but you may have to get another under 540 Mbyte drive.
