error loading operating system winXP

When i insert windows xp > goto setup windows XP > fomat full c drive to NTFS > after that it run copies > then restart computer automatic. It start computer and I received a message "ERROR LOADING OPERATING SYSTEM" Can anyone fix this for me please! please give me step-by-step how to fix that problem because i'm not good at computer! Thanks

i have the same problem, error loading operating system after it has formatted the hard drive and restarted. PLEASE can anyone help me resolve this problem. I using a new 41GB hard drive and it has the latest firmware. Why do i get this message and how do I resolve it. thanks!!

AL MANSOORI - I have the same HD, but i am installing win 2000 ad server
I have this problem too... with a 40GB IBM 120gxp hard drive...
Windows ME installs fine. Windows 2k fails in a similar way, but without the "error loading operating system" message. Mandrake Linux 8.1 installs fine, but fails during the boot process (after LILO and several boot tasks).
Soltek mobo... Hard drive is primary slave; shouldn't matter, right?

Make sure that when you reboot, it reboots from the cd. This is so that it can run setup again and copy all your files over. MAKE SURE YOU BOOT FROM CD
