OS: DOS 6.x
CPU/Ram: 80486 8mb?
Product: Toshiba T4800CT
Comment:

I recently purchased a Toshiba T4800CT Laptop. It already had dos 6.x and windows 3.1 installed. I've never used 3.1 before so I'm still learning it. I installed Master of Orion and tried to run it but it says I don't have enough expanded memory. While in DOS when I type in EMM386 is get the message that it's not installed. I have been unable to locate it in the windows directory.

How can I install emm386.exe in the easiest way?

Depending on your win3.x version it won't be in there. EMM386.exe is located in the DOS folder.
As Daveincaps says post the contents of both autoexec.bat and config.sys files if you can.

If you do want however you can set EMM386.exe by following these commands.

Star from a cold boot so that after DOS loads it's drivers and files you should be at something looking like this

C:\

from there type EDIT config.sys, this should look like this

C:\edit config.sys (press enter/return)

You should then be presented with a blue screen with text on it. One of the first strings of text should contain something like this

DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS

Simply move the blinking courser with your mouse or keyboard (depends if mouse drivers have been set up) to the end of this line and press Enter/return, this will move you a line down.
Now simply type DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.exe

Basically it should look something like this image (however yours may have more drivers and stuff loaded in it)

(You'll need to enable images in your user config area to see this)
Hope that helps
