I posted right after you.
Hehe
I figured it out.
Grab the file form the windows 98 or 95 called:
himem.sys
load these in your config file liek this:If lets say its on the root C:
device=c:\himem.sys
devicehigh=c:\emm386.exeIf you have those two files on the root C: drive then you can just have your config file like this:
device=himem.sys
devicehigh=emm386.exeI was unable however to load this:
DOS=HIGH,UMB
but at least the version of DOS I am running called "freeDos" is loaded high.
I check ed it doing this command:
mem
cya
device=

Don't try to load emm386.exe high. Put this in your config.sys file:
device:c:\dos\himem.sys
device:c:\dos\emm386.exe [RAM | NOEMS]
DOS=HIGH,UMBYou can use any of this two options:
- RAM use up to 32MB of extended memory to symulate expanded memory if necessary and provide UMBs. It also provides VCPI support.
- NOEMS don't emullate expanded memory but provide UMBs. Don't provide VCPI support.

So what would I use to increase conventional memory:
device:c:\dos\emm386.exe RAM
or
device:c:\dos\emm386.exe NOEMS
Do I need a value after RAM like
device:c:\dos\emm386.exe RAM 32 ??
Still a little confused how to use it.I want to increase my conventional memory and I am doing this:
In config:
Devicehigh=and in Autoexec:
LH <<< Load High
whereever feasible and also I am loading devices in different order that tends to increase conventional to:
Last question:
How do you feel about QEMM. I worked great in Windows 95 Pure DOS and not sure how it will work in DrDOs or FreeDos not MSDos!
Thanks again
