most dos cd-rom driver packs come with utilities to open and close the cd-rom drive. go to the support page for your cd-rom drive and download the driver file.

I believe that requires a 3rd party utility, but don't quote me on it. Sure it works in a batch file.

CD MANAGER
(C) Guenther Klaming 2000

usage: CDMAN [command]

command: PLAY play audio CD
1,2,3..99 play specified audio track
STOP stop playing
