First of all, this thread belongs in the General Hardware forum, not the DOS forum.
Instead of using the button, try opening the drive by opening My Computer, right clicking on the icon for the drive, and clicking "Eject". If it opens, it's a problem with the eject button on the drive.
If it still doesn't open, open up the case of the tower, and look inside and make sure the power cable going to the back of the DVD drive is plugged in tight. If all looks well, switch the power cable on the back of the drive with an unused power cable, and try it again. If it still doesn't open, it's a problem with the drive itself.
