After doing F8/previous version of dos to use dos6.22 on dual boot with win95, I can't get to win95 without resetting my system.
I saw a posting from a month ago re dual boot problems and response #3 mentioned .w40 ext. Not only do I have .w40 ext but many others to check and eliminate (autoexec.bat, .mtm, .bak, .w40, .001, .m01, .bit, .umb and config.sys, .001, .002, .bak, .mtm, .old, .umb, .w40, .win). Besides editing and making sure .bat and .sys are up to date, do I NEED to keep any others (.umb for example)? Should I have autoexec.bat and config.sys with identical .w40 counterparts?
Also just found out my 6.22 is beta version. Is the beta6.22 why I can't get to win95 without a warm boot? Can I add "win" or anything to autoexec.bat like on win3.x computer? Can I install full version 6.22 without formatting my hard drive and would this help?
Thanks bunches!

Hi,
After you boot in DOS 6.22 you always need to reboot to get back into Win95, so it's just normal and has no connection with your beta version. As for your startup files you can delete all with .001, .002, .bak, .mtm, .old, .umb, .win extention. They occur as a result of some installation. For example .MTM it's probably occur after Mitsumi CD-ROM installation. In DOS 6.22 session you need only Autoexec.bat, .w40, and Config.sys, .w40. In Windows session these files will be renamed in Autoexec.dos, .bat, and Config.dos, .sys respectively.
Good luck, Igor M
