Installed a new I/O Card an still cant get it to read the Dos Disk 1 when I boot up. i get the following errors. 1. Drive Not reading Error Insert Boot Diskette in drive A: Press any key 2. Non Sstem disk or disk error. Replace an press any key when ready I figured that i had the cables not connected right. so tried them a diff way . Once I was able to get it to read dos disk 1 once. but once at DosShell got the message couldnt instill Dos6.3 on this computer. but that's what we had on it before. Once again i thought i was i had the cables backwards now every way i put them i get the above Error disk message. Boy am I stuck an dont know what to do. Thanks for you Help an Time.

you may just have a dirty drive, a bad drive (floppy), or a bad disk. Do you have another boot disk you can try to see if the computer reads it? Also, take your boot disk to another computer to see if it will read there. Try blowing out the dust, etc from the drive, either by blowing into the drive door, or using compressed air.

This sounds alot like a Stealth C, (a Boot Sector Virus). If all of the hardware issues has been resolved look into this as your possibility ?

This appears to be of a viral nature.So... open up your pc use the cmos discharge link on the motherboard to clear the system. or remove the backup battery .have a coffee then refit the battery. Of course you will have to setup the cmos again.Use del on bootup to set parameters.
