Reply: (edit)Hi Rusty. You don't mention what model Toshiba you have, but I found this. It explains how to add resume.sys to your system -
http://209.167.114.38/support/Tsbs/200/tsb0256.htm Here is the link for the resume file. Do you have OS2 on your system? http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_modItemList.jsp If this is not the file you need, the Toshiba website has customer support you can contact. Take care,
Linda

Reply: (edit)indeed a good question, what is in line nr 2 ? and the sysfile missing: better start looking for it, in the easiest case, it is on your harddisk, but in a different location

Reply: (edit)The standard location for vresume.sys in Toshiba DOS 5.0 is c:\dos. It is not necessary for the operation of the computer. It is for the sleep/awake operation. Howevew with a computer that old the resume battery is probably dead. I have three Toshiba 1800 an all those batteries are bad. What is line 2 of the config.sys and what programs are installed on the system? It may be perfectly ok, except for the messages.

Reply: (edit) Count from the top and correct or take line two out of the CONFIG.SYS. C:\DOS\VRESUME.SYS is an AUTOEXEC.BAT line. Apparently there is a bad or missing VRESUME.SYS in the DOS directory.
