I am trying to redirect a print job to a image printer, ie a virtual printer..This way i can save the image as a PDF...
I am using DOS-BOX to run the DOS program..There is no data entry, just menus in the DOS program..I use NED image-printer-95 program to look at LPT1 and tell the DOS program to send to LPT1 when prmpted...I get a message from DOS program that printer is out of paper..I tried to toggle pin 12 on parallel port but did not work... When I hook up a ral printer to LPT1, parallel port then it works OK...
ANy Suggestions..
Thanks
Chris

I can't solve your problem in the configuration you posted; some guy may give you the tips you need.
I would proceed as below

Install Bochs x86 emulator, load DOS operating system and run your application in the virtual machine.

Installing Bochs set up the LPT1 virtual port connected to a file (e.g. output.txt)

Using DOSprn (a third party shareware program) direct output.txt to CutePDF virtual printer to get a PDF documents.

That worked fine for me to achieve PDF documents from DOS applications.
