If this is in fact DOS 6.22 and not a circumnavigation of the postings then firstly the Drives needs to be FAT16 formatted within DOS/Windows 9x(not W2K/XP). If you have DOS6 installed on hard drive then your CONFIG.SYS may look like this to start with.

device=c:\usb\usbaspi.sys /v
device=c:\usb\di1000dd.sys
device=c:\dos\himem.sys
device=c:\dos\emm386.exe
buffers=20
files=40
dos=high,umb
lastdrive=h

If this is from a floppy then need to alter lines to suit, where the files are stored.

More help with configuring DOS can be gleaned from:

http://www.dostutor.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/tutor/frame.html

If you need FAT32 support you need DOS7 or 8 from W9x/ME.

Still nothing, hangs at the divide by 0 error. I don't know if its because the USB port is 1.x and the flash drive is 2.0 or what. I've tried DUSE, Iomega, and all the other ones I could find. Any other suggestions?

had received the same error .
i was working on it for two days and at last it worked , the config.sys reads:-

DOS=HIGH,UMB

rem device = USBASPI.SYS /w /v

rem device = USBCD.SYS

device = di1000DD.sys

and make sure the following files are present in the bootable floppy:-
*usbaspi.sys and usbcd.sys(which can be obtained from the following link:-http://panasonic.co.jp/pcc/products/drive/cdrrw/kxlrw40an/driver/kxlrw40an.exe)
*EMM386.exe(which should be your OS's compatible copied from ur harddisk)
*di1000dd.sys (which can be obtained from http://www.stefan2000.com/darkehorse/PC/DOS/Drivers/USB/mhairu.zip)

I use the Maxtor one touch external hard drive.
I installed the HP USB storage tool driver.

and it worked at last:)
