DOS USB CompactFlash w/ Microdrive

I've been trying to get a IBM Microdrive attached to a USB CF Reader to work on a DOS boot floppy. I'm using DUSE. It sees the reader, but I get a message that the storage device failed to load. Have any of you that have been having success w/ DUSE and USB drives tried it with CF readers? How about the other DOS USB drivers mentioned? The reader is implemented as a USB storage class. Is it the same protocol as the USB drives you have been using? Also, I have a PCI USB 2.0 card that I tried loading w/ DUSE, but it hangs. Has anyone had success with DUSE and USB 2.0 PCI cards? If so, what mfg?

I've been able to see the drive (and CF & Smart Media) in DOS using DUSE (device=duse.exe wait=1 nocdrom sec=512 int13 ver=1 uhcn=1). I changed from a USB 2.0 reader (SanDisk 6-in-1) to a 1.1 reader (SanDisk ImageMate). The 6-in-1 is supposed to be backward compatible, but DUSE and it don't get along. DUSE still hangs w/ the PCI USB 2.0 controller. I'll update if I make any progress there.
