Hi guys
I have 120+ price/ holdings files, which have been unloaded from my in house software product. I now need to strip out the top 12 lines from each file (the price section only), and copy these chunks of text into one big file. Copy & pasting in a text editor would do it, but it'll take all afternoon.
Does anyone know of a quicker way of doing this (with a DOS command within a batch file maybe)?

What you want is at Secret_Doom #19 (he is normally around). It can be used to extract any number of lines from line x to line y from a text file. It is a script to generate the required program. This could be combined with a FOR statement and the outputs combined into the output file. If you can't write the rest of the batch file to get your 12 top lines with this and combine all files, then contact Secret_Doom and he will do it for you.
