I currently have a Dos boot disk that is setup for DHCP. I modified the protocol.ini and system.ini. It just wont work. I think I may be missing a line in the protocol.ini to enable static boot. I know I am using NetBeui protocol, I'd be happy with TCPIP but it doesnt fit on a disk. Any help would be appreciated.
Parker

Here is a copy of the protocol.ini
; This is a sample protocol.ini for the NETBEUI protocol

[network.setup]
version=0x3110
netcard=DYN_NIF,1,DYN_NIF,1
transport=tcpip,TCPIP
lana0=DYN_NIF,1,tcpip

[protman]
drivername=PROTMAN$
PRIORITY=MS$NDISHLP

[tcpip]
NBSessions=6
DefaultGateway=
SubNetMask=
IPAddress=
DisableDHCP=0
DriverName=TCPIP$
BINDINGS=DYN_NIF
LANABASE=0

[DYN_NIF]
DRIVERNAME = DC21X4$
;DRIVERNAME = ELNK3$

Mike (and/or Parker)

If possible I would also be interested in having a copy of Mike's net boot disk emailed to me. I have been trying for quite some time to "build" one by modifying a standard 95/98 boot disk, but haven't exactly been successful. Any help and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Pat

Bingo! Just what I've been looking for. Could you possibly email me a zipped copy of the files on the DHCP boot disk? Static setup is fine to, if that's all I can get. I'm trying to use Ghost to send my images up to a server running ip, but can't connect in DOS mode.

Thanks in advance!

John

Mike,

I have also tried numerous methodes, and all I have been able to do is use a RAM disk to uncompress a couple of diskettes.

Could you e-mail me a copy of your single boot disk.

It would be greatly appriciated.

Pierre

If anybody is interested, I have both Static and DHCP boot disks that can be used for both upload and download to a remotely networked server/machine. I can also provide info pertaining to seetings for your needs (such as default user name, default path to map to, etc.)

Hello Brandon,
I am running into a situation where my system hangs while "Waiting for DHCP server..." I tried to set it static but I can't seem to make that work. Could you please send me a copy of that disk?

Thanks Scott
