Hi, i am building a home surveilance system based on an old 486 running DOS, I am looking for a SMS/caller utily to my nokia 6150, thereīs plenty of this stuff for win and linux (gnokii etc) but i havenīt found any dos based software. Itīs not that difficult i presume, but i am not a programmer, i should get a program/drivers to communicate through the data cable (MBUS) ? If somebody could help me, I would be grateful.... Could those opensource linux project be complited to run under dos? Anyway, i am not a coder, so if someone should have binaries.. please send me..

I doubt you'll find anything to do what you want in ms-dos, as it's rather a specialised task. You may get some luck with mini-distributions of linux (look at http://www.linux.org/dist/index.html or google for one) but I would say that your chances of working with streaming video on a 486 are low.

Donīt know of DOS drivers for Nokia, but I do know about DOS SMS software that works on a normal telephone line. Also Windows 3.1x software that can do that.
The software I use is country specific, but some of the software can be configured by yourself.
Here in Holland sending an SMS with this software and a normal telephone line is cheaper than sending with a mobile phone.
If you have streaming video I presume you have a an old (ISA) videocapture card that works in DOS? Which one?
