I need to screen capture a fullscreen DOS app (a game, really). Ok, I'm using WinXP, but I want to make this very clear: I -DO NOT- want a Windows screen capture program. I need a screen capture program made for DOS, which is why I added this to the DOS forum. Printscrn will not work unless it's in a window (which it can't be in) and every single Windows screen capture program I've come across (even the ones that said they could get fullscreen DOS programs) didn't work.

I remember having a DOS app a long time ago (pre Win95) called IMPROSSESS or something like that which could capture DOS screens no problem, but I don't have it anymore. I also came across a program called "Screen Thief", where the older versions (before 2.0) were for DOS (newer versions won't work), but it doesn't install because it tries to print a registration form or something but can't... ack.

If you're sure you know an alternative solution then feel free to share, but keep in mind that there's no way printscrn will work and no screen capture utilities for Windows worked that I've come across. Besides, It would be an added bonus if I could use it in pure DOS (I have a pure DOS partition which I sometimes use, too). Thanks. :P

I have the same problem. PrintScreen, ALT Print Screen, & screen capture programs work on DOS screens in text mode or (reportedly) when in a window, but apparently none of them work when the DOS program used a non-default screen mode command or a graphics screen. Again, any assistance would be welcome.
