In DOS 6.22 is there a proper way in turning the computer off? When the scree says "C:\" do I just push the power button to turn the computer off or is there a command?

Yes, just push the power button to turn the computer off.

In ancient days one first had to "park" the heads of the hard drive, before pushing the power button. Actually it ussually was a switch.

On many newer machines you need to hold in the Power Switch for about 5 secounds to turn PC off. This is a safety feature for Win9x onwards.

If you are in Pure DOS thats all you need to do! Turn Off.
