Reply: (edit)Sean I wish I could help you but Iam having the same problem. I want to get my network to run under dos so I can play head to head under the network. The book says it will not run under windows networking only dos. Can you help me with this or lead me in the right direction. It sounds like you know more about it than I do. Thanks

Reply: (edit)If you tell me some more about your setup there I should be able to help you. Some other people have sent me some instructions and files that have helped me a great deal. I have also found out alot of info on the net and my problem is sorted I can now log onto the NT domain via dos.

Reply: (edit)My question is along the same lines. In general, I would like to be able to boot from a floppy and attach to my local network, via a NIC. Does anyone know where I might get a break down of the necessary files and their configuration I would need to do such a task? Thank You! Shawn C. Alford

Reply: (edit)Go the MS knowledgebase or even better go to www.ghost.com. There is a product called ghost to image pc`s. Search the knowlegde base there and you will find the answer. Or if you want to I could mail you the documents if you mail me.

Reply: (edit)Okay guys, Here is your answer to your problem - Go to Start/Program Files/Administrative Tools/Network Client Administrator Select the "Make Network Installation Startup disk: radio button, hit continue. You will need to copy the clients directory off of the WINNT Server cd to the C: and share it out. Hit okay when the paths are correct. Under Network Client select "Network Client V3.0 for ms-dos and Windows. Under the Network Adapter Card section, select your NIC card or something similar. You can always change it later. Hit okay. The rest is common since.. If your NIC Card is not on the list. You will need to change the Protocol.ini file in the NET directory to reflect your NIC and also one entry in the System.ini file in the NET directory. For examples go to http://www.i386.com/admin/netboot/100pro.htm . You can also change the Autoexec.bat to use certain drives and shares to automatically connect to. EX: "net use q: \\Server123\clients" without the quotes. Theres a space after the q: If you need more help just email me.. Hope this works for you!!
