doslfn support lfnames in msdos but i have a trouble with nc55. nc55 still doesnt show the lfn as it is but puts ~1.txt(ex).

is there another commander fixes that or is there a dosshell program like command.com that fixes it? i tried 4dos but the same trouble

Obviously NC itself is not LFN aware.

LFN is not perfect whatever version you find...............

Maybe instead of WinDOS7.1 try DR-DOS7.01 with the DRDOS PROJECTS Updates:

http://www.drdosprojects.de/index.cgi/about.htm

NC Clones, as newer may handle LFN with more success:

The info panel of my NC5.5 says:

************************************
* The Norton Commander, Version 5.5*
* 1 July 1998 *
************************************

This NC5.5 IS LFN aware.

Try:

F9 + R + W => Wide right panel
F9 + L + W => Wide left panel

Also archive´s LFN shows in the Mini Status line.

In MS-DOS 6.0 I use DOSLFN + MKLINK (for CDROM) (see http://www.geocities.com/jadoxa/doslfn/index.html)

My NC5.5 bat is:

@echo off
c:
cd\
cd utils\doslfn
mklink /v-
lh doslfn /z:cp850uni.tbl
lh c:\utils\nc55\nc.exe
if exist c:\utils\doslfn\*.jlt del c:\utils\doslfn\*.jlt
lh c:\utils\doslfn\doslfn /u

A NC-Clone with LFN support is:

Volkov Commander

Good luck
