Run DIR and look for file Setup or Install. Run whichever one you find and follow instructions. Good luck

If it is just on one floppy it may not be a complete install setup. If that is the case, boot from the floppy, at the command prompt type sys c: This will install the necessary files on the hard drive so it can boot to DOS. Then make a directory on the hard drive and copy all the files from the floppy to this directory.
I want to get rid of the NYB virus but when I type FDISK /MBR at the A:\> prompt it tells me "Incorrect MS-DOS version”. I have version 5.00. Anyway I can upgrade to 7.00 or 7.10?
I also tried BOOTSCAN C: /boot /clean but it says its not a valid internal or external command.
I have windows 2000. The virus makes my CD Rom drives inaccessible.
If you have Windows NT4 or Windows 2000 or Windows XP why are you using DOS?, there is no DOS in the NT family. Using DOS to rewrite the MBR is pointless.
Run the W2K or XP install again, whichever one you have installed on C: driveas now told us you have both, and choose the repair option, this will take you to the COMMAND PROMPT, typing HELP and pressing enter will list valid commands, and if you type /? after command will give parameters, ie;
FIXBOOT /?
If you in fact have dual boot W2K and XP will probably have to do this for second installed O/S as well.
Please post in the correct forum, thankyou!

i tried sys c: and it said that c was an invalid drive specification. I also ran DIR and setup and install werent there so im going to try to download a different one
1. Insert an uninfected, write-protected, bootable disk that also contains the FDISK program into the floppy disk drive, and then restart the computer. 2. Type the following, and then press Enter:
fdisk /mbr
3. Remove the floppy disk, and then restart the computer
As response 7 get a boot floppy!
