dear sir,
I am currently running DOS on my sony vaio pcg-fx Notebook (my operating system win98) .My programs are not displayed on the full LCD screen area, but on a smaller, centered window about half the size of the display. Can anyone tell me if there's a way I can set up DOS to utilize my fullscreen????? please help me as soon as possible . thanks,

It's a driver and resolution issue. Same thing on my ThinkPad.

If you are running in a DOS-box try maximize the window by pressing Alt-Enter. To shift back press Alt-Enter once more time.
Hope this will help you. Svend Broholm

This has nothing to do with drivers... it's caused by the way a LCD screen works. A CRT (regular computer monitor) can change its resolution and pixel size, but an LCD has a fixed resolution and pixel size. DOS runs at something like 320 X 240 at the command line, so it gets shrunk down when it uses your LCD's small pixels. To see what I mean, change your windows resolution to 640 X 480. The pixels get all blurry, right? That's because each one is made of a few pixels rather than one larger pixel, like on a CRT.
