I am looking for a good DOS GUI/File manager, I tried quite a few already (Seal, GEM, Desktop2, are the main ones I've tried), does anyone know of a good one?

Well you don't say what your requirements might be so it's hard to tell you what could fit your needs.

I would also recommend quickmenu III, Desqview/desqviewX, Graphic Vision File Manager, DOSStart, GEOS/Newdeal or perhaps even Microsoft DOSShell.

HTH,
Michael

If you TRUELY are talking about a DOS manager, and not some hidden agenda concerding Whenodx9xx or Xtra Putrid, my all time favorite is Xtree Gold. I don't know if you can download this anywhere, but I actually bought two copies off ebay about 3 years ago.

By the way, something I learned LONG after starting to use Whindoz9x, is, that there is a one file transfer program in with Xtree called Xtlink.com You can load this separate from any other program, and run from a command line, load Xtree on top of it, or even load Whendox9x on top of it, and you have a transfer program.

I THINK that laplink 4 series can be used as a file manager, as well as a tranfer program.

Both LapLink & FastLynx can be used as File Managers if set to 'Local Mode' Enabling you to select and transfer files from one directory to another on the same drive. As well as renaming and deleting them.

Both are available at PowerLoad
