Does anyone know a way to get older dos games i.e duke nukem 3 , Jungle strike etc to work with a SB 16 Pci? I upgraded to this when I added a DVD drive to my system and had heard you can get sound lag on an ISA version . The Dos emulater is no use!! any ideas or should I put the old card back in and hope the DVD is OK????

PCI sound cards are not DOS friendly because a default virtual PCI device must be installed along with the sound drivers. You can get it to work using "Boot to Dos" in the Shut Down Menu, but you will have so little conventional memory left that most games won't run. If the ISA card you have is a Creative AWE card (32 or 64) you shouldn't have any lag with DVD. If you have a fast processor (PII-333 or higher), even a Plug and Play SB 16 should work just fine. If you have some odd-ball ISA sound card like an Acer or Yamaha Opal, for example, you'll just have to try it and see.
