dos functionality

formatted the hard drive of my P.C. installed windows 95 version 4.00.1111 lost a lot of the functionality in dos tried to install dos 5. PC said I had to partition my drive to be able to install dos. don't want to do this. Is there another solution ? Maybe an upgrade ?

Windows 95 has all the dos in c:\windows\command. you can run most old programs except disk tools. Add a autoexec and config.sys to the root and it boots to dos, type win to load GUI. You can use progman.exe, filemgr like 3.1
