Dos Driver

OS: Win98 2nd Ed
CPU/Ram: Celron 400 /128

Have an old dos game that I can run but can'tdetect SB sounf card. Can install DOS driver for SB128 but it seems to need EMM386 but game won't run with EMM386 is there any way round this

Your game should run fine with emm386.exe installed unless emm386 is using too much memory for EMS memory. Try this line in your config.sys file:

device=c:\emm386.exe noems

and see if your game will work then.

I have tried that. With emm386 line in config.sys game still won't run. It goes into game and comes straight out again. Is there anyway to use the SB card without using the SBINIT.COM I have to run a SETSOUND to configure a soundcard for the game. This does the same as the game with EMM386 loaded.

Have also tried devicehigh=c:\emm386.exe
