We use a DOS Point of Sale retail package - for security reasons - we strip off Windows & run under DOS - installing new DELL pcs with an internal modem - ( V90 56K ) is anything available that will run a win modem under DOS ? Thanks
Hi, as far as I am aware WinModems use Windows resources to run, it would be better to get an external serial one or a PCI Hardware modem, I believe Arachne Web browser has some support for internal modems!
When you say strip out Windows do you mean you are using W98? or a we talking NT which has DOS emulation? I believe that in W95/98 if you run a DOX box from within Windows it may be possible to call the modem, sure somebody has done it!
