This morning my boss alerted me that our p: drive that runs our mailbox manager (outdated program :-) dos) will not open.
This message comes up:
Network error on drive p:.
I click cancel (from a choice of cancel, abort, retry, and this comes up:
Cannot find the working folder for this program. This program may have trouble locating it's files and documents. Make sure the working folder is specified correctly in the property sheets for the program and any shortcuts to it. Would you like to run the program anyway?
I click yes and first the abort, retry, cancel message comes up, and then this comes up:
Cannot access the file P:\box\box.exe. Make sure the file is a valid program file and it's not in use by another program.
If I click no, the program and any messages quit immediately.
If you have any ideas to help me out I'd appreciate it. I'm not very dos literate. I've tried running a CHKDSK and a SCANDISK as well as a DEBUG on that drive (P:).

You will want to check to see that the user is logged in. If the user is not logged in you will get this message. Also, check to see if the drive P: works from another work station.
If the user can log in and can see all but the P: drive on the network, you will need to check the server and see if the drive has failed. If the drive has died, you will need some one to look at your system that knows networking and hardware.
