Internet Explorer is designed for Windows and can only be installed via Windows when it is running!

I think he just wants to start IE Setup from a DOS prompt within Windows.
In order to do so, go to the IE Setup path and run Setup by enter the following commands:
D: CD \IE IE5SETUP
--------------- Long Live DOS!

Seems a little pointless to me? You still need to have Windows running, and while I have never tried to start IE Setup from the DOS Window. I would think it will re-start Windows to install anyway!

Sure, his question seems to be a little pointless to us. Nevertheless, I guess what he wants to learn is just how to launch a Windows program from a DOS window, and that's all. Not a true DOS question though.
