Okay, I've been through installing Windows 3.11 for Workgroups over DOS7.10 & hooking it up to my broadband connection.
What I'd now like to know is : (I guess from Wengier) is : if I have DOS 7.10 installed and want to use it standalone (with Arachne as my browser) how would I go about doing it?
I've heard the phrase "packet driver" mentioned, but I'm not quite advanced enough to understand what exactly this means.
As far as hardware goes, I have a Dell workstation with a LinkSys LNE100TX NIC for which I could find Win3.11 drivers, but nothing specifically DOS related.
If anyone is willing to and can help me, I would greatly appreciate it, even if it's just to point me at a website that can answer this question.
Thanks.
R.D.

Arachne requires a Packet driver it is included in the downloaded driver zip file:

The explanation of "packet driver" is available from here:

Most DOS Internet programs access to Internet via the packet driver interface, so the packet driver is very important for these programs like Arachne.
