I am looking for a simple to use utility that will run on a 9X thru Vista that will create a bootable disk for a DOS 6.2X only maching that uses a 3.5" floppy. The utility must be easy to use for my audience and allow the autoexec.bat to be either edited by the utility or overwritten manually to complete needed tasks.
thanks.

"9X thru Vista" err yes but this is a "MS-DOS and compatable forum" any software we recommend would be DOS based. You are looking for a Windows Solution!!

You could use something like WinImage, which will create DOS boot disks, or get a hold of bfi at http://www.nu2.nu/
bfi will allow you to store the DOS disk in one or more directories, and you can use it to create DOS boot disks where the boot sector is supplied on the command line, and the contents equate to the subdirectory. You then use an image tool to make the diskette.
The dream you dream alone is only a dream,
The dream we dream together is reality.

I need help.
Basically i need someone to explain to me in not to difficault terms how i can boot into dos from an usb floppy, i've tried the Hp-tool way, and it doesnt work. I dont have a diskette slot, so it's the only way with a flash, og portabel harddrive. I've read a lot on how oyu can tyoe commands and save files to flashdrives etc, (ex)
USBASPI.SYS Switches:
Here are the known valid switches identified so far with the Panasonic(TM) v2.06 USBASPI.SYS driver in CONFIG.SYS
device=[{path}]USBASPI.SYS [/e] [/o] [/u] [/v] [/w] [/r] [/l[#]] [/f] [/slow] [/nocbc] [/norst] [/noprt]
You can specify more than one controller type (e.g. /e /u). This switch can also be used to force slower speed operation on high-speed USB controllers & devices.
The driver will scan for all types of USB controllers, so use these switches to specify which port types to enable. This allows for faster USB scanning. By specifying /u or /o and omitting /e, it forces Full-Speed mode on High-Speed devices. One can't make a Low- or Full-Speed device run at High-Speed.
/e EHCI, for enabling only USB 2.0 controller
/o OHCI, for enabling only add-on/onboard USB 1.1 controller
/u UHCI, for enabling integrated USB 1.1 controllerBUT how does it all work? type it where?
Can someone please help me so i can boot into dos and save my files from a crashed hard drive. I'm also wondering if it's possible to take out my internal c-drive and hook it up to another computer, and then in some way save my files?
T3
