i need to know how to make a boot disk for a print server the server is an old 386 with no hd they want it to work off a stiffy and
it must have support for all the protocols and it is not for netware i think it is for nt
i dont know where to start can any of you guys give me a hand thanks much appreciated

I should imagine this can be achieved by making a standard boot disk that incorperates the 'net' commands. I can e-mail you a list of these commands if you like. You could try making a DOS boot disk from Win 95 by typing 'SYS A:' ... this should boot your 386 up to an A:\ prompt. Next once the 'net' source file is copied to the disk. You should be able to use the net commands to start/stop print services etc.

Or go to your NT server and go to Administrative Tools, Network Client Administrator.

Fill in the fields, choose your protocols and your disk is done.

IF they do not have YOUR particular nic card, choose ne2000... then dwnld your NIC driver for DOS or MSLANMAN and read the protocol.ini file - replace NE2000 with the name in protocol.ini
