DOS app and Anti Virus software

we are running an old DOS app residing on a novell 4.11 server - last week we added Trend Micro Server Protect and also the client/server suite to all workstations - since then, every day, we have been getting 'error rewriting record' errors in the dos app, today got 'memory allocation error' just by opening the program (these types of errors used to occur before, but not on a daily basis) - seemingly obvious - or is it just coincidence that these errors are occuring more frequently with Trend Micro running? Has anyone had anything remotely similar happen with an older app and trend micro? thanks!
