Hi,

I've found in my garbagebin an old computer. I want to reinstall the machine with MS-Dos 6.22 and WFW3.11. I've installed DOS and everything works (Soundcard, CD-Rom etc) The only thing I can't get to work is the Networkcard :(. I've tried everything. Reinstalling, other cards etc. But everytime its installed DOS starts the nic, can see the MAC adress etc but it hangs on "Initializing TCP/IP via DHCP....."

Well i thought maybe a Static IP? So i've did that according to my local network. When the computer boots it goes on now but i cannot ping etc. Other computers are not found :(.

Maybe Hardware problem? I've created a Standard Ghost Bootdisk with TCP/IP support for creating an image of my freshly installed DOS. Setted the Multicast Server and works. So everything in the computer is not broken. I can send and receive over the network only not in Dos 6.22 with MS-Lanmanager 3.0

I hope someone can help me!

Greetings Paul

p.s. Sorry for my Crappy English.

Tnx

MS-LAN MANAGER only went to version 2.0,
did you mean MS-NETWORK CLIENT 3 ?

WfW is network enabled so really no need to
use MS-DOS Networking.

If this computer and NIC work with other OS's installed on it...?
Can you ping with the other OS's (pings not blocked are they?) Create a shared resource on another computer on the network. Sometimes MSClient will not automatically see the share, you have to type it in manually.

Rule #1 Good computers don't go down.
Rule #2 There is no such thing as a good computer.

YES! WfW 3.11 has full networking
capability:

it is also best to download the updated TCP32B
tcp/ip stack and IE5 16bit version.
