Hi
Just a computer GOO-ROO.
I have a old 486 DX/66 Computer. I want to try and use it for somthing.
I have DOS 6.22 Loaded...

Anyone know any good DOS sites with prog's ?

An old computer like this is not much good for much, unless I want to use Windows 3.1
I was also thinking of trying to lurn Linux on it>> I don't know?
Sys specs::::::
486 DX/66 MHz
8 MB RAM
840 MB HDD
Of corse:
4 X CD ROM
3.5 Floppy

There is TONS of useful software for DOS.

Here is a place to start:
http://www.opus.co.tt/dave/

Also Windows 3.11 WFWG would be a good bet to run on that system, or if you added 8 more megs of RAM windows 95 would run quite nicely, either one would add even more software that you could use. As for Linux, your system will run Linux, although if you try and run one of the newer desktops like KDE or Gnome you might find it very slow.

I tried to install Zipslack Linux on a 486 but after several evenings struggling with it I gave up . It was installing X that defeated me so I went over to DOS
