If you have Windows 95 or 98 then you also have a real DOS 7.0. You can modify the msdos.sys file \ by: cd \ C:>attrib -h -r -s msdos.sys C:>edit msdos.sys REM - now edit the line that says BootGUI=1 to BootGUI=0 REM - save the file and exit the editor. C:>attrib +h +r +s msdos.sys
Now reboot the machine and you're at the command prompt again! The file MSDOS.SYS has been changed from a binary to text file in Windows9x. I don;t recommend you try editing a prior version. So, assuming you have Windows9x, you now also have access to the underlying DOS.
