Hello everyone.
Is there someone site in the hole internet world(!) where can i find progs for MS-DOS?And something else.
The Ms-Dos ver 8.0 exist Stant-Alone?(like DOS 7.0).There can be only one

Are yiu sure?
I have DOS 7.1(From The internet.BootableCD
And its intalls in to HDD!!And working exacly ver 6.22 whith some deferences(LFN support,FAT32))
E?There can be only one

WinDOS aka MS-DOS7.x was underneath W95 OSR2.1 and later and unless you have a Windows Licence you are using it illegally:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;258662
The version you have is hacked, the correct procedure to use MS-DOS 7.x from a Licensed W9x is as follows:
http://www.ctyme.com/msdos7.htm
No standalone version of 'MS-DOS6 and compatible' had LFN/FAT32 support for a few years after MS-DOS 6.22 demised. Anyway there is no real need for greater than 2GB HDD, 64MB+ mem, FAT16, 8.3 FN in Standalone DOS as the software is better written to take account of the limitations.

Hi Connor,
CM> Is there someone site in the hole internet

PS> MS-DOS 6.22 was the last standalone version...I don't believe it's OKay to focus on out-of-topic
semantics and much less licensing issues but i see
some steering in the confusion over "Stand-Alone",
really! A couple weeks ago, we could have thought
it was wrong to use DOS under a VMWare WorkStation
or Virtual PC environment (which provide their own
CMOS SetUp, Boot Procedures and Memory Management,
etc.) and now i seem to gather from this thread it
is bad to load DOS if the version is 7 or later...Quite frankly, DOS is only the underlying base and
i wish there were more posts about how individuals
actually use their favourite DOS applications, not
just DOS itself! Knowing the version is important
when we have to understand its limitations but i'm
not going to ask you that you fax me a license!...Alright, DOS v8.0 (Win ME) is a hack and i find it
difficult to handle anyway but DOS v7.10 should do
just fine: simply edit `MSDOS.SYS' so that you're
getting the items which aren't enabled by default. Now, about the original question, i don't agree if
the statement is that DOS applications are hard to
find. Please, allow me to post one single sample:http://www.pcxt-micro.com/
Once you have a few trails to follow, it will help
to tweak DOS to suit your needs so, i'd recommend:http://www.mdgx.com/secrets.htm
I can't care less about the history of DOS, we all
eventually come across some nice site for that but
if one is curious about Windows v1.x, i suppose he
better pay a visit to the 1st one mentioned above:
Windows topics here should ignite a twitch or two!;->
