Comment:
I need to install DOS in 4G harddisk. I have partitioned 1G for OS as the Primary and remaining as Extended. When I tried to install DOS from a floppy, it reads the floopy and just hangs. No more activity. I just see a blank screen with the cursor blinking.
Please help. Your assistance is very much appreciated.

I'm assuming you're seeing the "Starting MS-DOS", or whatever it says, to make it get's to the OS startup? I would try another Boot disk. It start DOS, but hangsup. Could be corruption somewere on the floppy. I wouldn't worry about the HDD at this point.

Thanks guys.
Yes I did format the HDD after partition. Like Red said it could be file corruption since I download that file from the Internet. Let me try to download again.
Thank you very much guys. Keep in touch. Maha
