I think that is the limit. you may need to go to win98 to use 16gb hd. why would you want to load dos on such a new drive?? what is the size of your computer and what o/s are you using? we can help more if we know more.

Dos and Win95a (FAT 16) has a limitation for upto 2GB where as Win 95b i.e. (OSR2) & Win 98 (FAT 32) has upto 2 TB. 8 gig is a limitation of your system's BIOS. I believe you are making partitioning (Fdisk) from a Win 98 boot disk/CD.

Or, you can FDISK the 16GB HD into 2GB partitions with DOS/Win95 (build 950) or up to 8.4GB with older BIOS systems with Win95 OSR2 or Win98. If you have a newer BIOS that bypasses the 8.4GB limit you can partition the HD to its full size using Win95 OSR2 or Win98.
