Comment: I am trying to install Dos 5.0 on a recently formatted hard drive. When I begin with the first disk it says "cannot install because all of the primary partition table entries on your disk are already in use." I am given the option to install to floppy disks instead. Thanks to anyone who can help.

Reply: (edit)i have a suggestion: -instead of putting in the 5.0 disks in while it starts, put in a boot disk. this should make it so you'll be able to get at least the "A:\>" -after that, you put in your 1st 5.0 disk and type in "fdisk" at the "A:\>" prompt. -if the HD is already reformatted, then you should be able to delete the partition by using the options listed in "fdisk". after deleteing the partition, you should be able to install DOS 5.0 on your hard drive. --Hope I've been some help to you. if this doesn't work....sorry, I don't know what to tell ya'
