Dos 5 system for Fat 16
Name: Petit Jean Date: June 12, 2004 at 09:12:24 Pacific OS: X-DOS CPU/Ram: 386 or better
With a memory manager like Quarterdeck QEMM386.sys, this dos 5 freeware by HiTech Business Software from 1991 can be used on Fat 16 computers. You get about 582 Ko free conventional memory without the use of dos=high, umb(not available on the freeware). It is very 'colourful' and most dos files like chkdsk use a graphical interface. It does work with cdrom drives with drivers like vide-cdd.sys and nwcdex.exe.You can install on 1.44 Mo diskette or hard drive.

Thankyou, but what use is a limited DOS version?? Surely more recent versions such as DR DOS 7.0x offer a lot more, and is free for non commercial use, providing you stick to the terms of the licensing agreement.
