There is a small bug in MS-DOS 4.0. I would upgrade to at least DOS 5.0. You can download boot disk information from www.bootdisk.com.

There was indeed a 'Major Bug' in MS-DOS 4.0, Which is why Microsoft released Version 4.01 which is a stable platform. You can find full copies of 3.3, 4.01, 5.0, 6.0 & 6.22 at www.powerload.fsnet.co.uk at the bottom of the MS-DOS Resource Page!
