Hi,

I have to restore a backup set made with Dos 3.2 and dont have a boot disk with restore on any more. Ive tried other versions 3.3 upwards and they dont recognise it.

Anyone point me in the right direction for a 3.2 boot with restore or just a boot disk.

Thanks in advance

Try

he has the largest selection of bootdisks I know. I think he has 3.2 as well

Thanks for the info Hal

Unfortunately the oldest on that site is 3.3 (which I've already tried with no luck)

It seems there was a change made between 3.2x and 3.3 in the way backups were made, so only 3.2x will do

So, I'll have to keep looking

Hi,

Well, Ive restored the files without the use of Dos 3.2 boot disk, in fact, I used Dos 6.22.

In the end, it wasnt that difficult (never is once you know how)

If anyone is interested in how it was achieved, please email me.

For CrackerJack:

Most versions of DOS will let you get at most of the data on the hard drive, it really depends what you need to get at.

Also, I cant remember whether the IBM PC jr has a 31/2 inch disk drive. Most of the downloadable dos boot disks (from bootdisk.com for instance) expect to be put on 31/2 inch disks.

Really, more information as to what you need off the disks would be helpful
